Urban living

Writer's picture: Siuta UaiseleSiuta Uaisele

I was gonna say

'Concrete walls

Glass shaded windows

Gazing down the black

Hot tracks carved

by human hands'

but maybe, urban poetry is about something else

but maybe, urban poetry is about these

Crimming face of a really hot girl

Staunch face and her long hanging coat

Some wears grey, many wears black

White comes across far and few

Or maybe, maybe its about something else

Students searching for intellectual contiment

Loans and box of noodle

With hopes of a better future

5 year bachelors with c+ and e-

A+ with fully paid scholars

Fits the profile of an European settler

The footprint of endeavour

Or maybe, its about the locals

Maybe its about the people of Aotearoa

Tena koutou koutou katoa

Greetings to you all

Visitors form the land far far away

Welcome brothers and friends

Could it be just about individuals

Years gone pass, the search for higher education

Years gone pass, expensive apartments one could not afford

Or years gone pass, hounted by the underworld leaping to extort

Thieves of networks

!Stunned by the wealth from a /struggling students work

Bereaved by modern techology, who would have known

The illusion of invincible farse

Feed them all to the crocodiles

One student cries

Dinner!!! Dinner for the dogs.

A cop thinks quietly

A lion roars from space

Buildings starts to shake violently for a few seconds
